Frank Wilson finalist for UTSA

UTSA: Sources tell FootballScoop UTSA is strongly considering Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer and LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson for their head coaching opening. We hear a decision should be public tomorrow; but possibly later this evening.
I just don't see him taking the job. Maybe trying to get more money from LSU.

Larry Coker's compensation was $400,000. Frank Wilson's is $676,000.

UTSA has some potential. It's a better job than Texas State or ULM IMO. Would Wilson ever get bumped to an OC somewhere like an AAC school where he could work his way to P5 OC? If not he would have to take a job like this to work his way to a better HC job

It doesn't seem to make much sense for UTSA to offer around $800,000, for their next head coach when Coker already had head coaching experience and even won a national title at Miami, with neither finalist having head coaching experience. However, at this time, I would not be at all surprised if Wilson would do better than Coker did.
Since Frank is a high achiever and is well liked by fans and players, perhaps he wants to pursue a new challenge or as someone said above, just make a higher salary at LSU.
I live in Texas and have been to San Antonio many times-- I think that is a solid sports area with potential to get even better. Obviously, the Spurs have great support with many also wanting pro football and baseball franchises. To go along with that, making UTSA a bigger name across the board in college athletics is also something that seems to be important to that community.

I really think Wilson knows if he stays one more year he will be in a line for a better spot.
Just don't believe it's the right move yet for him. I wish him the best I just think 1 more year at Lsu is best for him. And obviously Lsu
