The second to last line is really the most interesting. I wonder who the other candidates are.

quote:

LSU: According to Steven Godfrey of SBNation, “If, at this moment, LSU were to name its next head coach, Orgeron would be the favorite.” Godfrey adds that LSU’s short list of other candidates includes Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman, Jim Mora, Dana Holgorsen, and “a young, offensive-minded candidate.” Everything that we have heard at FootballScoop is that if Oregeron beats Alabama this weekend, the job is his. If he ultimately does not end up with the job, it is our belief, based on information from several sources, that there are other candidates beyond the aforementioned list that LSU is considering. We’ll update more following the Alabama game.

I don't understand how they can just have him the job if they beat Alabama. There is still a lot of football to be played. What if they lose to Arky and A&M?It's not likely but O hasn't coached an away game yet.

To me, at ark and at aTm are the games that O should be judged by. Specifically because they are after Bama.

I've accepted the inevitable. Our administration is run by idiots. Expect mediocrity until they fire the Cajun baw. And until they want to make an actual effort and change the program for the better, it'll be hard for me to get into LSU games like I used to

Jim Mora, Dana Holgorsen
ive never heard either of these mentioned even once until that SB Nation report yesterday. none of the usual good sources, either here or on 247, have ever mentioned them.

id be stunned if holgorsen was actually on the list, livid if mora was.

im gonna assume this is Willie Taggart. he's been mentioned before. handing him LSU seems like a massive reach but he did come up under Jack and Jim Harbaugh, and that probably means a lot.

There was something that came out awhile back about an LSU jet landing in Morgantown. It was said that it was likely unrelated to the coaching search, but it was still talked about. I would not be super enthused about Dana, but I think we could do much worse.

The slide under Miles was allowed to go on for too long. That's why people are now thinking that Orgeron looks like a reasonable candidate.

oh god yes. Orgeron might make us mediocre, Mora definitely will, it's all hes ever done on every level. i'd rather no coach at all over Mora, just have the offense draw up plays in the dirt.
