Saban already knows how difficult it is to win when there is parity in talent. He's not going to the NFL. He'll stay in college where he has a talent advantage every week and the process.

Yeah they do, Wade Phillips. You know, the father of the belly dancer in Charlie Wilson's War.

The Texans are willing to give Saban full control.

I'm listening to the Finebaum show for the first time right now.

Holy crap, this show is horrible. Is it 100% people calling in?

Also, the Texans are a disaster right now in regards to their cap space.

They owe a ton of money on players likely not to be there next year.

They are going to have $10.5 million in dead money once they cut Schaub, and have a ton of other money lost. They aren't near as close as people think and it won't be easy.

If anything, honestly, Tampa would be the potential best place for Saban to go. Young team loaded with a legit defense, strong players on offense, and while a young QB, they have the cap space to try and grab a FA like Cutler.

They'll be in a very tough division, but realistically they are going to be a very good team and soon if they get rid of Schiano and get a legit coach.

I think he said no to that - not enough money and not enough control, in all likelihood.

I have not heard any rumors from Texans about wanting Saban. McNair has clearly said he wants an accomplished NFL coach, which Saban is not.

With that said though if little Nick did go to the NFL the Texans actually would be a good fit for him. Team is loaded with talent and has a strong defense that has just been plagued with injuries this year and needs a little polishing. Very solid offense that is really just missing a QB.

I believe that his failure in Miami wasn't due to him not being able to be an NFL coach because his personality and style fits very well with the NFL. He just had no talent to work with in Miami, which he would have with Houston.

Still though he is not going to be the coach of the Houston Texans.

The media is just a pawn in the negotiations, and as evidenced by this board, many idiots don't realize this. I would bet that 50% of what is reported by the media is info purposely leaked by UT, Bama and/or Saban's agent. 25% is gross conjecture, and 23% is just stuff that people are flat-out fabricating. That leaves about 2% of accurate information out there.

Exactly my point. Imagine how successful Saban would be in college if every team was limited to how many 4* and 5* athletes they were allowed to sign. Saban will always opt for the best combination of money and unlevel playing field.

He needs to do like Obama and just offer himself up to the World. It'd be a much better place, if he did...
