Time to get rid of the Rooney Rule

There are enough Josh Manuel/Gase/Staley hires to indicate that really isn't the issue.

ETA How could I forget Allen?

Going to be made fun of here, but he's a great defensive guy.

Don’t forget, he was an OFFENSIVE assistant for the Falcons during the Quinn years.

The same offensive staff that produced future head coaches Matt LeFleur and Mike McDaniel now can mow add Raheem Morris to the list.

So you think race was a factor for why they chose him? They didn't have to hire him if they didn't want to.

Of course it was part of the equation. Let's not be naive here. That doesn't mean it's going to be terrible either. Aren't the Falcons in a bit of a bad place right now?

As a Saints fan this is fantastic news, 17-31 with the Bucs and 4-7 with ATL. Although, he has a ways to go to catch DA’s inept arse.

Bill might be done. Commandos probably go Ben Johnson and Seahawks aren't trading one old guy for another.

BK will be next to being too old to be a HC any more in the near future.

Told y’all. Bill wanted all his guys with him and the Falcons started backing off. That being said…this is an absolute shite hire.

I don’t wanna be overly dramatic but is this the worst hire of all time? Gonna go slit my wrists.

Blank’s inability to hire someone who is currently a head coach is perplexing. I don’t think most want to work for him so he has to go the assistant route.

Why would u hire an old HC who 5 SBs for his former team and they fire him? There os a reason he was fired after all of that success, game has passed him by for a younger gen and Pats leadership knew that

This seems like a really poor hire.

Who knows; the guy is well respected in coaching circles, but his teams were really uninspiring in Tampa.

I thought they would hire an offensive minded guy.

This may backfire on me, but as a saints fan I’m happy with that hire.

Just please don’t trade up for Jayden Daniels

Well, he’s an ornery 85 year old. Not a shock. Nobody wants to be around him.
