Check out Terry Foster's blog regarding Herbstreit being "duped" by a Desmond Howard impersonator. 'Belowpar' may be right. An ESPN exec is considering exposing Herbstreit, according to T. Foster. Wacky, wild stuff. This could get interesting. (Terry Foster is a columnist for the Detroit News and co-hosts a Detroit sports radio show.) Enter T. Foster's blog (question and answer section) through the following address: LINK

Scroll down and find a entry entitled "Fun rumors and such" and read the question and Foster's response. Crazy stuff.

Funny, absolutely. However, it seems highly coincidental that both belowpar and T. Foster are hearing the same story through their "sources." And these two stories are sharing some incredible details, e.g. Desmond Howard impersonator. I have no idea who 'belowpar' really is, but T. Foster is a highly respected journalist in the Detroit area.

Who knows....I've read where some folks say Tenuta himself told Kirk.

I completely understand where you guys are coming from. I am not saying I believe it either. However, there is a difference between a random forum poster claiming something and a respected journalist claiming something. If T. Foster says that he has spoken to an ESPN exec, then I believe he did. And the fact that they are both telling the same story (D. Howard impersonator) certainly caught my attention.

belowpar...he is clearly the man. I initially thought he was a fraud, but Circus Child thought differently and made me hold off on calling him out. I am glad I did. After corresponding with bp (that is short for belowpar), I learned that he is legit.

To belowpar:

Chicken, did you go on 1560 The Game yesterday or last Tuesday? Or did they just not put it on Odeo?

Rocket, my #1 1560 fan...I will be on the show the Monday morning before the game. I guess I am hiatus until we get closer to the game. Will you be in NOLA that weekend?

1:30 Detroit time. I'm off to bed. Hope this gave you guys an interesting topic. Will be curious to see where this story goes, if anywhere. (yes, it could be B.S.). Anyway, later all.

I cant wait until gameday comes to LSU next year. (Georgia?)
How many Desmond Howards will be there? Its going to Brutal. If the story is true, they should make Herbie do a solo broadcast.

Aye

I wouldnt mind seeing that homer gone. I remember our NC year in 97, him and Corso picked us to lose like every game. I was working for a company that the Pres was a PSU alum, and the chief salesman was a ND alum.

I didnt rub it into their faces needless to say...but under my breath I sure did :P

ANd rocket my friend....can you get over to the ESPN brds and chase off the WVU fans. I have tried, but them idiots are worse than the energizer bunny...they keep whining and whining.

If this story is true, Herbstreit is done. You can't make that big of mistake in the manner he did and expect to have a job. Obviously ESPN has taken a huge credibility hit. So, they might be thinking about separating themselves from Herbstreit. Pin it all on him and move on.

(Nice win by the Pistons last night over the Celtics)

If he didnt get picked up by another network, he would just do local work in Ohio. Granted I am sure it would be a pay cut, but he could still make double or more than what a blue collar guy does...just for flapping his yaps.

guys to be honest, I told this based on what someone told me...Which I don't do too often unless i know the person 100% if you know what I mean...

I posted that but even I don't believe that it is 100% true like some of the things I post on here...Some of the things I post on here, I'm completely positive on...This I wasn't, and I said that...But then again I wouldn't doubt if this guy was right...It was a pretty elaborate story for someone who has no reason to make it up...

I would love for it to come out.
