The LBs were much better than the DBs

This.

The LBs were the brightest spot on our defense this past season.

Steele was fine as a LB coach the first time around at Alabama. Clemson was the issue.

You mean like Saban and Smart did from 2008-2010?

I don't think you should ever be a DC without being a DB coach first.

I'm not sure the way Saban does it these days, but at LSU he ran with the 1's mostly during practice as the position coach took the 2's and backups. Throughout drills Saban would slide through and work the back ups but wouldn't give up 1's.

Saban was so locked on coverages and techniques it was a privilege to watch. If you ever get a chance to see a Saban practice you must go.

Or a way of implicating everyone else but himself.
well, he is making over 7 million a year to coach football.

It seams to me that Saban was so successful because he put so much pressure on himself.

Now, the pressure in on him, but not by him. He HAS to win now. Literally a championship or sec title every year. Period.

Gus and sumlin have him scared. He knows recruiting is the lifeblood. Their recruiting classes will be even sicker if big O comes on board now with kiffen there.

But he is cracking, and AJ is gone.
