All of this nit picking over Coach O's staff

Nit picking? IS that what this is? Wow. LSU fires Miles and turns around and hires a position coach to lead the team. That is a first class failure. Now, O may do well meaning win some SEC championships. Anything less and we may have just as well kept coach buffoon.

frick that...at least CEO made LSU football enjoyable again. Anyone who says they didn't enjoy the last 7 games more than the previous 40 something games is crazy

Why is Grimes believed to be staying? We need to know what type of offense we will run before he is even talked to and frankly should be long gone either way.

Because Austin Deculus and 3 other commits who's names I don't know off the top of my head. Deculus is a must get. He could see PT at tackle next year.

wait what? you can get a waiver?

Sure can, and Austin Thomas is the one who is allowed to recruit in lieu of Jenkins. I don't mean to interrupt the temper tantrum here but this is exactly the kind of gray area/shadow staff shite we should have been doing for years. Bring in excellent technique guys and have dedicated recruiters go recruit. Thomas is a rock star, finding a loop hole that allows him contact is pretty forward thinking. Won't be the least bit shocked to see the NCAA crack down on it soon since it wasn't Saban's idea, or at least put some stipulations on it.

What are you talking about? Nearly every HC coaches a position.

This is widely known.

Ex: Saban works with DBs in particular as that is an area he is comfortable

O is a renowned DL coach and is selling that to recruits. He will undoubtedly be working with the DL.

You don't hire a coach to keep football fun

You make that change to compete for championships

O has made it clear to fans and admin that he will surround himself with the best coaches available. Alleva said the same.

We should be nitpicking it. It's why he was fricking hired

See my last post

We should be nitpicking, and if you don't like it, this board might give you nightmares for the coming months

I will just sit back and watch the shite show unfold. Thankfully they were able to get Aranda recommited. Aranda could easily be LSU's 33rd HC when this Ponamsky-O house of cards crumbles.

but that was during the interim period. the NCAA is going to let us get a waiver during the whole 2017 season?

That's the plan Stan. Austin Thomas is on the road right now. If the waiver isn't approved for some reason then I highly doubt Pete remains in one of the official staff spots, but if the NCAA had an issue with it then compliance likely would have shut down Austin recruiting when the interim tag was removed.

It's a slippery slope, but with this kind of shite if you make them tell you to no, they might just say yes. They could also review it on a case by case basis so it's not just a free for all of hiring NFL coaches and used car salesmen in pairs.

Peveto was only let go to appease the masses. He still has use as a recruiter or director of player personnel. O is going to keep/hire all of his best buddies.

Peveto was let go because every part of a team he coaches goes to shite.

Jenkins is one of the foremost experts at defensive line position. Heck, Mike Smith (as well as other DCs) taught a lot of his SAM LBs to use the same hand techniques to shed blocks that Pete Jenkins originally developed for Defensive Ends. He's done consulting gigs throughout the country at the pro and collegiate level. I don't think he should be the mainstay defensive line coach, but the guy is fantastic at what he knows and to say he cannot be productive is complete idiocy.
