East Ascension Head Coach Search / Possible hire?

Rumor has it that East Ascensions new coach is from Sulphur, La., anyone hear this, and do you know who he is?

Supposedly former Sulphur coach Paul Bourgeois. Good coach. Took Sulphur to the 5A Championship in 2006 and lost to Acadiana by 3.

There were rumors weeks ago when the opening was posted on the parish website that they had already made a deal with some private school coach in BR who had resigned at the same time. I don't remember who that is, and I haven't heard anything since.

I'm a Daniel fan, he was DC when I played there, he is also a fantastic S&C coach. I'm guessing Bourgeois is an offensive guy...what's his style?

I would be stunned if Jeff Daniel left a good set up with one of the best insurance agencies in the state to make peanuts. He has it made now. He is not leaving that to coach high school.

last time i saw daniel was i guess 2 years ago or so and all he could talk about was weight training and coaching his sons team...maybe he just has the want

I would be excited about the hire if I was an EA fan. His teams were always very well coached.
