DJ Durkin...Where is he going?

A&M had a great Defense this season. Is there a landing spot for Durkin?
I wouldn't mind LSU getting him. The only thing that bothers me is the Maryland player death thing and the fact he is from A&M.

He is talking about the player dying from heat exhaustion when Durkin was the HC. I don’t know much about the details but it was a big enough ordeal that the university decided to part ways with him.

To be fair, Maryland only fired him after public blowback. They actually intended to bring him back after the investigation was complete.
IIRC the S&C coach was considered the person most at fault.

It is funny that Durkin hasn't gotten another job yet, unless he's just being really picky. aTm may have sucked, but their defense was pretty good. It's almost like he knows where he's going, he's just waiting for the contract to sign.

Davis is not the DC and they gave up the points mostly because their DB's didn't turn around and look for the ball when they were inches away from the receivers. But their DB's were in the right places at the right time. Oh and Washington has a really good team. So there's that. We beat Saban in a bowl and then hired him a months later. Just saying.

It took a huge step back in 2022, his first year. We weren’t exactly devoid of talent either. He is pretty good but far from some wizard defensively and extremely rigid in what he wants to do schematically.
The rumor for a while was he was going to MSU with Lebby but that didn’t come to pass

Message board rumor on our side was he has a pretty big buyout and AM was holding him to try to get us to pay it instead of letting him go. Curious to see what happens with him

Elko has brought in a DC, which is why I'm trying to figure out what Durkin is doing.
They had the best D in the SEC correct? They had some players but also lost a ton of guys last season to the portal.

I'd take Durkin as DC right now over current. I'd take Taylor Swift as DC at this point. Or Hunter Biden. Cardboard cutout of Danny Devito... You get the idea.
