Did Orgeron mention a shadow staff or facility improvements?

Have we learned any details on that stuff? If we want to make up for our coaching deficiencies we have to compete with that arms race.

He only said he thinks Aranda stays, we're keeping Ensminger and Jenkins, and that he'll re-evaluate Dameyune Craig after the bowl game.

a pro-O insider was talking about this yesterday

said that was his master plan

if that is his plan i'm somewhat scared. it's one thing if Saban/Bama find and use loopholes. it is something COMPLETELY different if we're talking about O and Kiffin trying to do that

I watched the press conference and the only thing in your statement that I heard him say was about Aranda. He said he is confident they can keep Aranda. He did not say we are keeping Ensminger, Jenkins or anything about Craig. He said the staff will be evaluated after the bowl game.

We need to keep Raymond, Juluke and Craig. If we hired Ed O to recruit, we better fricking recruit at Bama's level.

That way the next coach can win right away.

Yeah, I'm trying to give O his fair shot at this, given I don't have a choice anyway.

However, this really bothers me. The guy can barely move, much less recruit. Why not make him a part of the shadow staff and go hire lane's brother?

Sure it does, he's now one of the Good Ole Boys! Get used of it folks.... we will continues to be the laughing stock of college football for at least 2-3 more years. Unreal seeing we had the first jump at making a hire for HC, we end up with this bullshite hire.

Jenkins will likely stay involved as a consultant. Aranda has mentioned him as one of his best mentors. He's a valuable asset.

The use of consultant staff looks like a new addition to our program - it's something Saban has been doing and has become very trendy in college football. I'm curious to see who they add in this capacity.

plus O is a great DL coach and it's not like he's going to be very burdened with coaching otherwise with our coordinators making $2M/year and running the team in his place. it's completely wasteful and redundant

I don't get Esminger either unless it's some admin job.

I applaud what he did, but here's a bonus and a desk job.

Ed has said that Jenkins will be on staff as long as he's coach. That's a fact

We'll be able to add another on field coach next year, so whoever that is can make up for Jenkins lack of recruiting. But I doubt that goes into effect until the summer so basically this recruiting cycle is a waste
