Yes, because his name being linked to every opening means he is interested... He interviewed at two places and has been linked to others. But hey, just let your hate spew.

"I have no respect for him as a coach but I don't hate him" sure sure

Why do you think he wasn't hired at the places where he interviewed?

How much interest has he received?

Seriously. Was he just not interested in the texas job bc it wasn't high profile enough or would they not pay enough? Just for example

Has Oklahoma State gotten better since he left or worse?

Lastly, would you say he left the program better or worse than what he inherited?

All fair questions.

Miles has to interview for jobs to continue to get paid. He's doing that. He can hold out for a job he really wants.

That being said, nobody thinks of him as some super duper coach and he's not going to get a job at a place like Texas or USCw. At best, he will land a job like USCe or Colorado in a year or two.

I know that's the rant myth, but do you have a link that confirms that stipulation as part of the buyout?

And no, he's definitely not a super duper coach. I'd be comfortable betting $$ that he will land at a mid major if anything. He will not land a power 5 job.

Obviously if his name is being linked to every position there is interest. Him being brought in for interviews shows interest. However, the interest has to be mutual, Les may be turning them down as they might be a fit. Many of y'all are assuming these schools don't want him because he "sucks."

When did he interview for Texas? Texas had their sights on Herman last year as well as LSU

Oklahoma State is a lot better, they were a lot worse before he arrived. He put Gundy into position to have success. Much like Dinardo put Saban in position to have success and Saban put Miles. Miles has now put On in that same position with the talent on the team. He improved it from where it was.

LSU program is in great shape, Les was still a 8-10 win coach. Yes, the offense has struggled and was ugly but it produced wins. He won 9 games last year and we don't know how this year would have played out. People want to act like LSU bottomed out because of their hate for Miles. LSU was still a good program that had the potential to have great seasons. But hey it is just easier to say he sucks and use the fact he hasn't accepted a job to back up that simple line of thinking.

Les might need to expand his horizons... Sun Belt, CUSA, somewhere like where Watson Brown went...

If Les really misses coaching and teaching, then he should follow the Solich route: sign up with a MAC school, preferably one with resources, hire a couple of his buddies as assistants, but mainly fill out the staff with young guys who will energetically recruit. Enjoy football, coaching, the camaraderie and the nice fall weather in his MW roots.

If his main goal is the rush of playing games with national importance, 80K crowds and all of the media afterglow, then I suspect he's not going to find his place.

He's apparently one of the best around at making it look like he's trying to get a job, but not actually getting the job. He's doing a masterful job thus far

I think he is just taking a couple of interviews to keep his name out there but would only take something he really felt right about.

I'd love to see him in the Corso spot on Gameday or something similar on, say, SEC Nation.

This has something to do with it. I posted an article last month that, from sources, the staff he was proposing in interviews seemed to be too far fetched or impossible to get, and even if Les could get them all, would be way too expensive for the schools he was interviewing with.

Because, like many of us have been saying for years now, without good coaches around him hes just a very expensive recruiting coordinator.

I was told over 2 months ago that Les was getting zero feelers from schools; even small schools. As in, his agents were contacting teams that had openings, and they were either being told "no" or just being ignored. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that he had zero conversations with Minnesota and that his agents were leaking that in an effort to get an interview.

But...but...everyone said we were fools to want to be rid of him!

He gets too much $ not getting hired. We may all think he is dumb, but he did get a degree in finance from Michigan.

Just like when he was still at LSU, he's just in it for the money.

Les was hired under very much the same circumstances as Orgeron.

Del Rio's agent didn't tell him about the meeting, he didn't show up & Skip felt slighted. Hired Les the next day. Meanwhile, Del Rio fired his agent because he wanted this job, the "slight" was unintentional.

Herman wanted to hear out UT, Alleva felt slighted, Alleva hired the next guy on the list the next day instead of letting the process play out.

So, maybe Les wasn't that strong of an interviewee in the first place. He didn't need a binder, he just needed Del Rio's agent to frick up.
