Feel like Fritz will wreck it at Houston.

I’m also a Coog so excited if it’s Fritz. That said, I’m good with Elko. Think she is the main thing. Fritz will get negative recruited not knowing when he will retire. You need Saban level pelts on the wall at some point.

Elko looks like he’s about the same age as fritz. Hard to believe he’s 46

Probably in the short term at least. He has more experience as an HC, at many different levels of competition, and has been at Tulane for 8 years, so he has that edge over Elko with only 2 years of HC experience.

But Fritz is 63, Elko is 46. If Elko works out he'll be able to give Aggy many more years coaching than Fritz could.

Do you mean coaching or lifting weights/cardio?

Is this a question about the chronology? I thought aTm hired their guy first.

Only thing Elko sweats over is a plate of McRibs.

You'll make him the worst coach in the country. Fisher and Sumlin were good coaches before they went to Brokeback Field.

Elko looks like he has high blood pressure and is on the verge of a stroke.

I don’t see him lasting at A&M more than a few years.

When you put it that way, both.

Based on resumes, on field results, and winning football games, there is no doubt Houston hired the better coach. Aggie is rolling the dice and just hired Jimbos DC.

Florida could have had him for a lot cheaper and be more successful.

I really like Fritz.

Fritz being 63 is a difference though.

If you count the buyout plus Elko's salary, a$m spent over $100M to promote Jimbo's DC to head coach. Amazing!

Can Houston be a power? I don't know much about the school. Obviously, if they can just recruit their area, they can field a good team.

They can certainly be a power in the new Big 12 and compete for a spot in the 12 team playoff. Beyond that I don’t know. The school has grown and developed immensely in the last decade or so and with that has come more financial support for athletics. Fertitta is their Phil Knight or T. Boone. They are further ahead in basketball as the results show, the hoops facilities are tremendous now, but that shows the support will be there for the right coach like it has been for Sampson
