You can tell Ponamsky and company are desperately working to replicate last year's situation this year. Won't happen.

The poll on TD with Jimbo vs O, O got 26%. With several hundred respondents.

Not to mention, the majority are idiots.
how many precincts reporting tho?

I bet if john king were here to break it down, the swamp and river parishes and trailer parks are heavy, heavy O while the more civilized parishes are Jimbo.

None of those other coaches could have beaten the teams that O has this year Bil.

Are you kidding me Speedy? You dont think Jimbo or Herman (or any avg coach) could've been 5 bad teams?

Hmm. Maybe chicken can update the poll to include location. Would be interesting to say the least.

I've been listening to the AFR podcast with Moscona for the past 2 days and he's all about Jimbo.

It is clear that Alleva is an idiot, no need to fire Miles in Sept and let O try to lay claim to the job (O did the same thing at USC), should have let Miles crash and burn and fire him after the Bama game. That way the interim coach could not have used the season as an "audition" and we could have had a clean search. No advantage to "start" the search that early, all the good candidates were busy and no one will commit to anything even verbally without knowing what else is available.

I have no problem with firing Miles after the Auburn loss. What I do have a problem with is Alleva framing this as an opportunity for Orgeron as having an open audition. HUGE mistake, colossal blunder.

It basically turns O into an incumbent candidate for the job. What should've been said by Alleva was, "I've offered Coach O the job of interim Head Coach until the end of the season. After which we will evaluate all available candidates and go through a process of selecting our next head coach."

I know it's subtle, but it puts everyone on notice of the intention to seek the best candidates after the season. Instead, I think Coach O will feel a bit disrespected for working so hard and not getting the job.

I agree 100%. And, it's not because it has positioned Orgeron as a candidate. That's a positive thing in a vacuum. It's because it has eliminated the possibility of keeping O on staff. And, this was done when the plan from day 1 was to bring in an offensive minded coach and try to preserve the defensive coaching staff as much as possible.

In my opinion Alleva screwed up by not making Brad D Peveto the interim coach.

Yes, exactly.

Definitely makes their job easier.

I just can't figure how some fans that have followed LSU for decades and seem to have common sense could live through the Miles years and accept a defensive head coach.

Why would they want the program to take the HUGE risk of not getting and developing the most important position on the field? They would hope and pray that a hired OC could attract, then develop a QB, and then actually remain long enough to matter.

The recruiting services are well aware of the abundant NFL talent wasted at LSU during Miles tenure, due to the simple fact he could not identify and develop a QB. Yet, they almost seem giddy about the idea of Orgeron taking over? Just not being intellectually honest.
