Texas offering big money to Sonny Cumbie to be their OC. $1,000.000. Just reporting what was reported. Also said that Tulsa OC is the other possibility.

Cumbie would be great for LSU. But I doubt Les would want to be that creative and innovative on offense.

Problem with LSU getting a guy like that is if they do make a change, it'll be after signing day, and it limits the field a bit

Plus our AD/president just went on national TV and said "the school is having budget issues so we don't want to spend money" and also "never change les, you're the best!"

$1M is a lot to offer someone who, by all accounts, doesn't really call the plays, even though he's co-OC. He also doesn't have a big resume with years and years of experience that you would normally see from a potential OC of a big program.

-Strong went up to FW Saturday evening to talk and offer him the job

-Cumbie and his very pregnant wife spent the majority of Monday in Austin, touring campus, city, neighborhoods, etc.

-Cumbie has some stipulation that if he were to take the job, Strong would have to change up his post-game Sunday schedule, as Cumbie is insisting he be allowed to attend Sunday morning church services.

The locals are getting restless and expected an answer yesterday. Cumbie appears to be taking his time, as the religious thing and his very pregnant wife who's about to pop are giving him pause.

Would fit in perfectly. Cumbie doesn't call plays at TCU. LSU's $1 million a year coordinator doesn't call plays. Perfect match.

Correction this isn't big money it is HUGE money for an OC.

They offered a 3 year contract. He would end up being paid $3 million for one year of work.

Meacham is the playcaller, and any school hiring him as an OC would owe TCU a $1 Million buyout.

If Kirby came calling for Meacham, I'd be okay with that.

Maybe a high-school coordinator who doesn't mind a one-and-done at Texas on his resume?

The UT AD gave Strong plenty of rope to hang himself with, that's for sure.

We can only hope Strong steps it up and gets to 6-6 next year and gets an extension.
