Grimes is an A+ OL recruiter and plenty of advanced analytics suggest LSU’s OL was excellent last season, even if a lot of fans craw against him.

Overall that's a well written article. It is interesting to see how the last two spots play out with potential for current coach movement still. I completely agree with the Texas recruiting. Corey Raymond will continue to work Florida even with all the heavy influx of good coaches and recruiters there. We need to keep pounding East Texas with Herman going to UT.

Here's my take on Grimes:

He's clearly a great recruiter and the advanced analytics DO say he puts out a very good unit. While I don't like his zone blocking sometimes and his players seem to get pushed around by Alabama, I think he has suffered big time from our offensive scheme. It doesn't do the OL any favors if the other team knows exactly what play you're about to run every single time.

I am very interested to see how they look under Canada, who loves a lot of motions and can run tons of plays from each offensive set, thus keeping the defense much more honest.

That is why I definitely think Grimes should get another year. That being said, PLEASE for the love of god, get a true LT in here and actually let him play LT.

I agree. People have to think with Les as a former OL as well, he had his hand in this area a lot. I'm curious to see the direction of it now with Grimes as the only main OL coach on the team now.

UT under Traylor had some of the worst ST I have ever seen.

He's like a worse version of BDP. If we hire him I'll be pissed.

Les wanted 5 guards and no tackles on his OL.

I agree w/ you. Give him one more year under Canada.

This is true and I agree 100%. Absolutely terrible at UT.

Best DL coach in country, but give him an office job, sure. It's amazing how little people know about coaching and or the coaching profession.

Traylor can coach the TEs. Then give Mike Mallory a call about the STs job, he can coach LBs too.

Traylor would likely be your ST coach in name only with April as the shadow man

He's a solid recruiter but that magnificent haul from a few years ago is not looking so good, especially after this latest transfer

and if he were behind the Pocic debacle....later.

Is he going to recruit? O can't do as much recruiting now that he is the head coach.

I never said he wasn't a good coach.
