When I was at redemptorist from 2001-2005 we was a dog winning 2 titles over patterson and john Curtis. We had recruited great talent to go there and had great assistant coaches. My friend said what made him great was he didn't do anything just motivated our players and he was our guidence councilor He said he knew how to relate to his players, recruit, and hire great coaches. He let his coaches call plays and he trusted them. Coach O reminds me so much of Sid Edwards and what he did.

Comparing O to a high school coach seems like a better comparison than trying to compare him to most of the other candidates.

I wasn't aware that this was allowed under LHSAA rules.

He can do the same at a smaller school and build them up to be a winner.

I understand there is a big difference between a high school coach and a college coach at a big time program but I was just saying ed orgeron has simarities in coaching style as sid Edwards who was a very successful coach at his program. When Sid edwards left we declined and now they don't even exist. Well hugh freeze was a high school coach and beat nick saban and alabama 2 years in a row and should have won a third in a row. Same for Gus Malzahn he was a high school coach and he beat bama once as a offensive coordinator and as a the head coach.

So many things seem wrong with this post ......

1. Don't you have to coach to be considered a great coach? This would leave Edwards out as he doesn't really coach, He recruits the best talent ..... yes EVEN at Central ..... (McKinly QB comes to mine)

2. Coach O has forgotten more football than most high school coaches know ......

3. Are looking for a coach or a figure head ?

Did Sid Edwards also have a 19-27 career coaching record?

Coach Sid is very calculated about his record he would never coach a team that had the chance to have that low a win percentage
