CLM and interviews

I think that other schools have very quickly figured out that LSU made CLM and not the other way around. He is a great recruiter and recruiting was 90% of the game.
Put him at a smaller school or school where he has to consistently get players better than 90% of the competition for no other reason than them wanting to be there and he and his avg players will produce average to below average results.

Yeah that is why Nick Saban has success because of LSU...
Les Miles would suck at a program like Oklahoma State where they can't get top players.
Les can't even form coherent sentences which is why LSU went with Coach O because the dude is like Socrates compared to Les. He speaks fluent cajun and Les could never learn it that dummy.

I don't get the constant shitting on Les Miles.
A lot of people wanted ANYONE but Les Miles here. Well, we got it, so why are you guys still complaining about Miles? Those people that say we're better off aren't acting like we're better off.

He won't be recruiting from the same pool, all he would do is stockpile talent at a higher clip than his competition.
Recruiting to UH is an entirely diff set of players, all he has to do is best the others in conference, not LSU or Bama.

Oh goody, yet another bash Miles thread.

No, I think the guy is a great person and those around him love him, that was obvious.
The issue was he is not a good coach, out talenting teams is why he won the games he did, but the moment he went against a team with equal talent or better talent he was at a severe disadvantage.
Teams that are interviewing him realize that their school if only pulling average talent can see the writing on the wall.

Why didn't the multiple other coaches LSU fired have similar success?
Posted on 12/11/16 at 1:28 pm to oneg8rh8r
Yeah he is a shitty coach, LSU never really won under him like they did under Saban and Dinardo and Hallman.
Dude would be a bum at a school like Okie State. Should start coaching High School, no team wants him.

You think Les Miles has any reason to go pick up work right now when LSU is still paying him. You guys are fricking retarded. Les Miles holds all the cards in regards to what he wants to do. These small schools would be lucky to get Les.

A lot of people wanted A PROVEN COACH over Les Miles here. Well, I'M NOT SURE we got it,

He is tanking interviews so he gets paid to not work. He is not dumb.

I'm thinking CLM and interviews are like a scene out of Tommy Boy.

He 100% wants to work. No way he's tanking interviews. He's not wired that way.

Personally I don't get why so many continue to trash Les on our boards. It was time for him to go and now he's gone. Get over it and move on. Look at the talent on our team. Les didn't leave us barren and crushed with controversy. We are as healthy, program wise, as we've very been. That is because of Les.
Sure be mad that he didn't do more with what we've had, I'm a little mad about it as well. It's not Les' fault he coached here during the greatest dynasty the sport has ever, and will ever, see. That's just an unfortunate set of circumstances. Les deserves better than what many in the fanbase have given him. Over time he will be very highly thought of around LSU. As he should be.
