Chip Kelly is a POS
WHy do you care so much whether or not the guy is friendly? Let's win some football games.
quote:
he hates recruiting
This has been stated 100 times, but no linky thingamajig. Either way, he was not a bad recruiter at Oregon. So he would be a great on at LSU.
quote:
His players in Philly hated his guts, as did most of team administrators.
NFL, totally different beast. And i'm sure Saban's players are raving about him as a father figure.
quote:
Chip's offense may be great but it would put his defenses on the field way too long for the big boys in the conference.
So he can run it in the NFL but not the SEC? Get real.
quote:
With one of his best teams, LSU put up 40 or so & if not for a last minute score against the second team, LSU would have held his powerful offense to 20 points. AU shut down that offense as well in winning the NC. Not NO but HELL NO.
First off, Oregon played LSU better than any team that year save BAMA. And the talent discrepancy was insane. You seem to forget to mention that was LSU's best team ever.

Not NO but HELL NO.
Aren't you an O fanboi? Do you know how stupid it sounds to turn down and NFL coach who is widely accepted as one of the best offensive minds in all of football, for a Dline coach that failed miserably at his last oppurtunity?

How many NFL teams stick with a coach through a rebuild? The Panthers with Ron Rivera I guess

I still salivate thinking about that team. Good god. Could you imagine if we had one of our current potential coaches in place then.

and he hates recruiting. This has come from several sources. But please go get him

I am not a fan of Coach O because I heard too many stories of the dirty doings that happened at O.Miss under his watch. I am just very much anti C.K. or Petrino because of their personas & lack of any defensive skills. Nicky is a lot of things but I don't consider him a POS. As for CK's dislike of recruiting, it's fairly common knowledge in the college football community but my source was the article in S.I. and a subsequent one in the old Sporting News. As for his offense, last time I checked he was fired in Philly & is close to getting fired in San Fran because of his HC failures. Apparently his offense is not the god send it was in Oregon. "Best offensive minds"> Again, I am not questioning his offensive capabilities. But defense matters in the SEC & he suffers there. We will see just how much demand there is for him when he gets fired for the second time in less than 3 years.

I know he got a few players out of TX but that's as much as I know.
Better way to say it was he paid to get a few players out of Texas.

Chip Kelly is a POS & his leaving the Ducks was very much a mutual agreement. According to a lengthy article in S.I. he hates recruiting & having to suck up to the big shot boosters. If you recall, more than a few of his players were POS, too. His players in Philly hated his guts, as did most of team administrators. Chip's offense may be great but it would put his defenses on the field way too long for the big boys in the conference. With one of his best teams, LSU put up 40 or so & if not for a last minute score against the second team, LSU would have held his powerful offense to 20 points. pretty much sums it up for me too.
