Well we're already seeing the results of Red being shut out, so yes I do. Jamail was a big fan of Mack & has quietened down since his departure. Haven't even seen a comment from him. All the other BMD's are on board & content. Now, there is always an opportunity for these big egos to sound off again, but their access to the athletic programs has shrunken.

Texas has to pay big money to get a decent hire because of how difficult and unstable the job is. Hell, you already have 100 million dollar boosters running their mouth on ESPN about how they disagree with the hire. Also its a pride thing for UT. THey can't have Baylor and aTm's coach making more money than their own.

If this remains thrn good gor y'all. Don't get me wrong I have the hate in my heart for y'all but since we aren't tied together anymore I can take an objective view of the things going on there. I hope it works out if for nothing more than to witness Baylor bitch and cry back into obscurity.

Hey man, let the hate go. I like to joust with you Ags, but its really not that serious. Appreciate you objectivity anyways.
The truth of the matter is that I feel that this escalation of coach's salaries to many, many times that of the Presidents of the schools is not good. It is reflective of the collective egos of all fans. I donate to UT but not to the athletic foundation and I'm really glad that the "fund raisers" for the new coach were held in check. You have no idea what they had in mind for Saban and I believe it would have worked had not the AD & Prez stepped in to stop it. That's why Red is so pissed. All this Gruden stuff is just a smoke screen. He had prepared a HUGE real estate deal for Saban that would have been "off the table" money as they say.
