Do you guys think Bo is going to quit his job at LSU and go to Nebraska? How do you think he will do? I have always admired LSU's fan knowledge and loyalty to their team and would like to know if you think this is a good thing for Nebraska or a good thing for LSU. Or both.

Last I heard Nebraska didn't want him. So I guess not.

One other LSU poster commented that the reason Tom Osborne is off on a recruiting trip instead of completing the hiring process is because Bo is the only candidate who is still coaching. Makes sense to me. Bo was my first choice based on what he did when he was on the Nebraska staff several years ago.

Hate to tell you this, but I think Bo as a head coach is a gamble.

You Cornstrokers need to step it up. I like Pelini as a D coordinator, but what makes anybody believe he is Head Coaching material?

You need to go OUTSIDE Cornstroker Nation and get a proven successful coach. You need to move behind all that children of the Corn crap and go with someone who will shake things up.

I know you have lost your identity as the preeminent smashmouth team and want it back- so get a proven smashmouth guy.

Go after Tuberville. He would blow that Big 12 North up.

The question I would have for Neb. is this. The guy has never had any meaningful HC experience and now Neb. is willing to hand the keys over to a guy who doesn't like to talk to the media and doesn't really enjoy recruiting. A better move would be to bring back Solich, a proven winner and knows the program much better than Bo. Maybe bring Bo in as DC again under Solich and groom Bo to be the HC sometime in the future.

I agree. He has no head-coaching experience, and we all know that being a head-coach is more like being a ceo, as opposed to being a X's and O's man, so I can say bo as a head coach is a trip in to the unknown.
The only thing I can judge bo on is his defense's performance. For a number of years, his defense falls at the end of season. bo makes no adjusetments during the course of the year, and it's evident. Suprrier drew up the first draft showing how to move the ball against our defense and bo made no evident adjustments.
Lastly, even though our defense ranks highly, it's more about the talent than the scheme. You'll see in this year's NFL draft that we'll lose 5 of our starters on the first day, that's talent that nebraska doesn't have.
bo squandered talent, and I don't see him making the most of nebraska's talent.
The long and the short is that unless he hires some really good coordinators, that neb will go 6-6 and that's in a really weak big-12 north.

Not true. Paul Johnson still is, as well, and Osborne hasn't spoken with him yet, for that very reason.

FWIW, like the others above, I think Pelini as a head coach would be a HUGE gamble.

One seemingly good season as defensive coordinator (you guys still got lit up by Mizzou, K State and Texas that year...so badly by K State that Pelini ran after Bill Snyder after the game and threatened bodily harm to Snyder) and one bowl game win over a spotty Michigan State team doesn't = great coach. Sorry to break it to the Nebraska fans who are clutching onto that one season as justification for wanting him as the HC.

Bo coached Nebraska in the bowl game a few years ago as head coach and beat Michigan. So give him credit.

I would like to see Bo hired as the Head Coach and maybe get Turner Gill in as an OC. It could happen because Gill would make more as our OC than he is as a Head Coach. And Osborne will get him better national recognition as a coach. Thanks
