supposedly he has a drinking problem.

Could we follow in USC's footsteps and pass up orgeron to hire a guy who has a drinking problem? Could be completely false, but it is cause for concern.

Another reason I'm on team fisher.

Another hot rumor from the Baylor camp is miles to Baylor.

I have lived in Austin and I have lived in Baton Rouge.

What is considered a "drinking problem" in Austin is considered normal in Baton Rouge.

It may be true - but it's also exactly the type of rumor you would fabricate to make excuses for retaining Strong for another year, or for pursuing other coaches if you know Herman is already headed elsewhere.

Or hire Jimbo?

I think a sideways drunk Herman is still 100x the coach Orgeron is

because of an alleged dwi? doesn't mean you're an alcoholic, just that you made a poor decision and got caught.

Unless he is in Sark mode, booze isn't an issue.

UT is running a misdirection. The admin had one of their 30 year beat writers put out an article saying they are heading in a different direction. The message boards move it to red flag and into a drinking problem. Now Herman has no pressure or awkward questions being thrown at him about a the Texas job.

On the other hand, LSU has people inside the program "leaking" information putting direct pressure on their coaching search. I have no earthly idea where any of those "leaks" are coming from and who would benefit from such leaks.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that's not true. Why? Because this.

quote:

"...Herman mentions his alcoholic, homeless father who died alone...I tried to help him as much as I could. But we were definitely not as close there at the end. It was more just me trying to help keep him alive."

Maybe it's just me, but if my Dad was a raging alcoholic who died "alone" and "homeless", and I saw it all unfold personally, I'd never drink a drop ever again.

It also means alcohol addiction runs in his genetics too and he already has an alleged dwi. Just saying we don't want to be like USC when we have a shot at a proven coach like fisher.

That said, my coaching order is fisher, Herman, fedora, fleck, big fricking drop then orgeron.

Was thinking this too

Orgeron is a sober alcoholic with multiple stints in rehab/clean living communities for booze and cocaine.
