ok give me 4 coaches who had a better 4 year stretch at lsu than saban? ok thought so...

well miles would definatly have had a better 4 year stretch that would have continued... but a bunch of idiots get up in arms when people lose 2 games a year so we are not going to see this kind of success again for another decade or two.

I'm not trying to go against miles at all. i like the guy, but its dumb to argue sabans success while at lsu when the last national title was in 58! Also we have only had 4 outright SEC titles in our history. thats amazing to me. well 2 of those came under saban. You have to look that kind of stuff when evaluating how good a job saban did here.

Post Saban & Miles winning percentages at LSU right here

*also make a list of non-conference games each has lost

DUDE, I am not comparing Saban and Miles!! I like miles, i was at the March for him the other day! We are not trying to figure out who the better coach is b/t the 2. Why dont you do a little work and go back and read my first post on this thread.

my point was that saying saban doesnt win enough games if you have pete carroll as coach is one thing, but looking at our history and where the program was when he came in...its not an argument to say that he doesnt win enough. I mean he accounts for half of our all time outright sec titles and half of our national titles...but ur right. thats just not enough!!!!

I can't imagine it. In typical Saban fashion, he lost to UL(M).

that was at alabama! and why wouldnt he win more titles here? How can you argue that he won 2 of the 4 outright SEC titles LSU has in only 5 years. What, has the game passed him by too!

If you want losses like that & playing down to Troy State & Oregon State etc. feel free to cast your vote for Saban.

And if that is typical saban fashion then winning championships must be included in there too

What about if I also want a SEC Championship and a National Championship? Casting my vote for the same guy, right?

so what? Alabama has SEC athletes, UL(M) does not. BTW only Ole Miss hangs banners or even talks about Co-Champs. LSU has 12 SEC championships.

ok even if you wanna look at it like that. how many years has LSU had a football team in the SEC. And only 12 SEC titles with 2 of those coming in a 5 year stretch with Saban. Still looks good to me!

Go ahead. He will never play for the MNC again IMO. SEC titles mean very little when you can't win your bowl game. Nobody talkss about Georgia's 2005 SEC Title, unless it's to bash Miles. Why? Because Conference Champs are in Conference bragging rights only. LSU & Miles finished well ahead of Richt & his 2005 SEC Champs.

You love Saban, I don't. The National Title was great, but aside from the 1 season, he is a 3-5 loss coach.
