Another 2nd tier name to consider

Pj Fleck, Western Michigan. Young, high energy guy building a program at Western Michigan. Already beat two Big 10 teams this year. Currently 4-0, interested to see how he finishes the year. Could be a good second tier choice, if top choices fall through.
Thoughts??

Good coach, but imo LSU cant afford a swing and a miss.

What the Fleck are you talking about?

No. and this isn't "another" name, it's been tossed out there 100 times already.

Sorry, didn't read every thread for the last 3 pages. His name does come up when searching top young coaches. Not saying it should be the first option, but not exploring all potential candidates can be a mistake. All these "big name" guys are not guaranteed to be a success here. A lot of so called big name guys have flopped (Muschamp, Butch Davis, Rich Rod, etc.). Saban was not a big name (top tier) guy, hell Dinardo beat him in the Indy Bowl. That turned out pretty damn good.

He'd be great for Kentucky. Fortunately we are not Kentucky.

I would rather Matt Campbell

if we hire a "2nd tier" guy we should all riot.... its herman or jimbo.. THERE ARE NO OTHER CANDIDATES PERIOD! LSU is to big of a job to go hire a "2nd tier" guy

This X1000. People need to chill with these "2nd tier" guy suggestions. This is not a 2nd tier job!

exactly! if we want to bring up "2nd tier" guys then we had no business firing miles. we would be the biggest joke in college football if we hired Fedora, Kiffin, Kingsbury ect....

Yes

Fedora is not good enough to be at LSU PERIOD so yes it would be a joke if we hired him

PJ Fleck is a really great recruiter and a solid coach. WMU was terrible, and he's made them a MAC powerhouse pretty quickly. That being said WMU to LSU is a huge jump. Also, if you don't like Butch level gimmicks, PJ isn't your guy.

Reaux the Beauxt would be kind of funny on signs tbh
Probably won't happen though

The Mississippi River has a "no rowing" policy.

If you can't get a Herman, Fisher, Patterson then you'll need to look at a Whittingham or Fleck type candidate.
You never know really. Meyer and Saban started somewhere less established before they came to the SEC.

These are two very different candidates.
Whittingham >>>>> Fleck
