I think everyone on this board agrees that we need to keep Aranda bigtime. He is a special talent as DC and if believes he is 4 years away from a HC job we should ALL want those 4 years to be at LSU.

So since Herman is out "UT bound bet on it" and let's just say for sh*ts and giggles Fisher is out also and Coach Oeaux sh*t the bed yesterday and he BETTER be out after yesterday's performance then the rest of the list is going to be somewhat of a crap shoot.

Here is a novel idea, although I don't think there is anyway Alleva is smart enough to do this. Pull Aranda in tell him how important he is to the program and say you will be an integral part of the decision process and ask him who he would like to work with. This might sound crazy but I have actually done this in a couple of companies I ran and it worked big-time! I pulled in a key subordinate in the group and asked his advice and for names of people he would like to work with. It will keep people from poaching Aranda, I can pretty much guarantee that!

If you're going to do that why don't you just make Aranda the coach himself?

What makes you think Aranda would be a good head coach?

That list is pretty long - look how Kirby Smart is doing for a great example - but the biggest reason is word is out he thinks he is 3-4 years away from having the experience enough to tackle the job. He admits his biggest weakness is recruiting which has got to be one of your biggest strengths in college football!!!

It has been mentioned in articles but obviously, unless a direct quote, you have realize it could be rumor but rumors can have a lot of truth to them depending on the source. I tend to believe this rumor!

Aranda doesn't seem like a guy who wants to be a head coach. I've met him twice in person. JMO

Not saying hire Coach O, but it is laughable to suggest he shite the bed yesterday. You can hate him all you want, but he just didn't shite the bed. Sorry.

Same things that made the Rant think CEO would be.

Dude, it isn't too crazy bro!

But Alleva isn't running a snowball stand, so your "experience" doesn't quite compare.

I see nothing wrong with what the OP said, as a matter of fact I think asking a top employee his opinion on a decision as huge as this makes perfect sense. It shows loyalty to a guy here for only a year and it relays a message that we want him to stay here for a very long time. This being said I have zero confidence in our AD. The only up side is that if he fricks this up he is history.

StevO you are obviously a huge Coach Oeaux homer and that is fine, I am also! But not a homer for him to be HC at this point. I would love him to stay at LSU as D-Line coach and recruiting coordinator, but if you don't think his chance of being HC after yesterday's performance equates to him shitting the bed you are wrong.

Florida destroyed the middle of our D, obviously having Kendall B. hurt in the first series had a lot to do with it. But when you are the HC and you have a 350lb monster that is a RUN stopper up the middle and you leave him on the bench because you are MAD at him for disrespecting your mentor - then yes HE shite THE BED because he let his emotions get in the way of the team. And he lost his opportunity to get HIS ADMITTED dream job! Look discipline the player all you want, and there are plenty of ways to do that WITHOUT hurting the team. But burying him on the depth chart and not playing him while a team is gashing your the middle of your D, and especially when your middle LB just got knocked out of the game, because you are mad at him. That is called "shitting the bed" because you let emotions control the outcome of your decisions and ultimately probably the outcome of the game!
