It was posted on a different forum by a guy claiming to have insider info that Sark and Helfrich were interviewed via phone by O recently. (Also said Helfrich is very interested in the job)

Anyone of you gents with the sauces know if this has any truth to it?

Any of you rantards agree with the moves? I personally think O is going to have a serious decision to make if these are the two front runners now that Kiffin seems to be out of play. Two completely different styles of offense.

Helfrich would be an absolute disaster. When he had complete control of an offense they were middle of the road to mediocre at best. Everything he does is anti-defense and would put Aranda behind an 8-ball. I just can't get on board with a guy that calls plays like he's playing Playstation and going for 2 all the time. No thanks.

Interviews need to be done face to face, especially with an addict. You can't KNOW Sark is fine over the phone.

If we score to fast it will make it hard for Aranda.

I don't see Helfrich being successful for different reasons. The team isn't built to run that offense. He requires a mobile and accurate QB. I understand there are mobile QBs on the roster that balled out in high school (Scott) but they're still unknown on the college level. Right now, like it or not, Etling is probably the starter heading into next season. I think if Sark puts the bottle down the offense could be pretty dangerous under him. Before his alcohol problems, he ran some pretty damn strong offenses.

I heard Sark and O are having a Red Bull guzzling contest as we speak.

Hope you weren't ever on the Kiffin train then.

Don't be surprised when you see #6 three yards behind center taking snaps in the spread.

And you can't KNOW any details of the hiring process, so shut up.

I swear some of the logical leaps I see on this board are downright embarrassing.

Helfrich did more pro-style in his time at ASU. When Chip hired him at Oregon, he said his experience with the spread was limited. So I doubt he's married to the Oregon offense.

i'll take a coach that needs to slow down his pace vs a recovering chocoholic that's apparently hitting the sauce, at LSU of all schools

Helfrich doesn't solve our most basic issue: developing QBs. By all accounts, he's been a disaster at that since being handed Marcus Marriotta when Chip Kelly left.

At one time, Coach O said he wanted to run the "Pete Carroll USC offense". If that is still the case, that leaves Kiffin and Sark. If Kiffin is out it leaves Sarkisian.
