The Texas folks that I know were convinced Herman to LSU was a done deal... then Saturday was like Christmas morning for them.

frick Joe Alleva. The day he's gone from LSU will be the biggest day for LSU football since Mark Emmert said to pay Saban what he wants.

If Alleva had any balls he would've gone in on Herman. O wasn't going anywhere, if Herman was as interested as reported I don't know why we couldn't at least wait a couple days to get a response. LSU is a better situation tHan UT.

Herman likely was just using LSU to leverage Texas but I have no idea why Alleva had no plan after that.

The only problem with Alleva's supposed short leash is the guy holding it seems to be much more intent on playing politics and hiring cheap labor than winning. Unfortunately, I think the thing that will talk is LSU football tanking again to the point where that nice big check TAF gives the University starts to come into question.
