I'll never forget driving to the gym and hearing they had hired him over Adam Gase. I just started cursing over and over and slamming my hand against the steering wheel.

That whole process was absurd.

You have a hugely successful coach in Harbaugh, you basically run him out of town and then replace him with... a nobody who was never going to succeed.

The 49ers shot themselves in the foot like few teams ever have. What a debacle!

It's been such a deserved public shaming of York and the 49er organization.

Wonder if Coach Henry stays around or if he jumps back to the college scene.

In addition to the coaching debacle, several key players retired while in the prime of their careers.

What his little prick nephew and sister and brother in law did to Mr DiBartlos team is a damn disgrace. The NFL should force some owners out to protect the "integrity of the game"

I do love to see them suffer public humiliation for being huge incompetent douche bags. And I'm a Saints fan.

I'd be down with Chip the coach, just give him ZERO say over personel

Would have to give up at least 2 high picks to get SP, no thanks.

Well at least you still have Trent Baalke. You know, the guy that chased Harbaugh away and hired his yes man, Tomsula. Who he also canned after a year on the job.

I'm sure he'll get a great coach this time.

I am amazed that horrible GM managed to keep his job.

Tomsula wasn't the problem, the roster was the problem.

That having been said, Tomsula seems by nature (rah-rah) to be a college coach rather than a pro coach. I think he would really kick tail if he took over someplace like Illinois or Colorado (I know they have coaches, just giving examples of medium type programs).

He wasn't just a nobody, he was one of the best DL coaches in the league. So we've now lost a great HC and a great position coach.

Apparently Gase was Baalke's first choice, and they had a deal in place until Jed York was like, "No, frick winning, let's not try, I didn't fire one of the best coaches in the league because I wanted to win".
