god damn, if we cant get some technical genius, i at least want some lunatic that will say frick it, that will open up the cages and let the gorillas loose, that will have an army of 5 stars flying around at a hundred miles per hour, pristine technique be dammed. we just had the teacher guy and that sucked.

USC made a big turnaround when he took over last year as HC. Kiffin was 4-7 in his last 11 when he got fired. Orgeron went 6-2, including a win over number 5 Stanford. he lost to ND (14-10) and UCLA. but the real difference was the attitude, his teams fought like hell, they were aggressive and angry.

EDIT: I'm just gonna put this here so there's no confusion; "open up the cages and let the gorillas loose" is not some race thing, it's a line from a Bone Crusher/Lil Jon song that went along with an early LSU hype video, one from the Glenn Dorsey and LaRon Landry teams, which is probably why it was in my head when I posted - the 1:10 mark

You must not realize that many are against that and see O as a DL position coach who recruits like a wizard.

Speaking of, I just posted this in another thread.

I'd rather Coach O be the DC than some of these names being mentioned. He's a DL coach but has HC experience. Sucked with Ole Miss, but most do.

Did really well as interim HC at USC when Kiffin was fired. Some felt he should have gotten the HC job at USC, but he wasn't USC enough to be the face of their program, since they have that uppity reputation to uphold.

"Orgeron for DC / Orgeron for DL position coach" has been started like 5 times now.

The ideal situation would be to have O on the staff with a top notch experienced DC along with him. At this point I am tired of the whole process and am just ready to hire O to be the brains behind our defense.

dont. dont even try to make that some race shite. "open up the cages and let the gorillas loose" is a line from a bonecrusher/lil jon song, one that was actually used on an early LSU hype video, which is probably why it was in my head when i posted.

i dont want to be as dirty as bama, but i dont want to be mark richt either, and i sure as hell dont want to be 8-5 again.

Because and this is only my opinion, ole Less, doesn't want anybody showing him up and the team looking more to that coach than to him. This is about the 3rd time Ed O's name has come up and never anything from Les.

Brick has basically as much experience as O. Except one recruits better

Orgeron's personality would clash with Miles. While I think Coach O would do wonders for recruiting....I think Miles steers clear of him. Just a hunch.

I would argue O has much more experience as a DL coach, and better results, and he's been a head coach in the SEC and Pac.

remember, Pat Haden is generally recognized as a smart guy (hes a rhodes scholar) and good AD, and when it came time to name an interim HC to replace Kiffin, with 8 games to go, he could have chosen the DC Pendergrast, which would have been the logical choice, but he chose the DL coach, he chose Orgeron.

Didn't Les offer him a position before he snubbed him for the Kiffins and USC?
