...Ron Middleton to Duke. Unbelievable when a coach leaves Alabama for Duke.

Could it be possible this assistant knows Saban is interested in WVU?? The mountaineer boards are really talking of the possibility.

Saban is a hard man to work for. He works 12 hr days and he expects you to do the same. Plus Middleton coached at Ole Miss while Cutcliff was there. This is not terribly surprising. Probably a better position than TE Coach too.

Scoop,

What would it say about Alabama if Rich Rod turns you down last year and then leaves for Mich this year and then Saban leaves for WVU after just one year at Bama? Not saying it will happen but there surely is a lot of smoke for there not to be some mutual interest.

Oh he'll lose a lot more.

But they leave b/c Saban pushes them out or they run from Saban.

But Saban doesn't publically fire coaches. They just find other opportunities.

A 12 hr day is a half day for Saban and his assistants. Many times it is 16 to 18 hour days.

I personally believe it would be the end of Alabama football.

This assistant was on Cutcliff's staff when he was a Ole Piss. This is not a big deal, it happens all the time.

It is well known that Middleton's wife has health issues. I can not think of a better place for a person with medical needs to be located than Duke University. I wish Coach Middleton luck in his new job.

Saban looses at least one, usually two a year. No surprise or big deal. He expects a lot out of assistants, some can't handel it.

The fact that they were all retained by Michigan State had a lot to do with that.

If Saban was such an SOB to assistants Bobby Williams wouldn't have come to LSU a few years later.

He's is also being promoted to assistant head coach under Cutcliff. Good for him, I wish him the best.

Scoop, you can not be an Alabama fan. If you were you would know that Wallace Wade left Alabama for Duke in the 1920's. You do know who Wallace Wade was don't you Scoop? Now do a quick wikipedia search.

If you knew about the coaching staff you would also know that Middleton was an assistant for Cutcliff at OleMiss. This is far from unbelievable Scoop. It is one thing to not be a homer Scoop, it is another to either be a fraud or just a sickening suckup.

Some don't last a month with him, see John Thompson.

I know, it was too easy.
