For the record I think he stays at LSU, but if (and it is a big IF) he takes the Michigan job....what do you think is the likelihood of him taking Cam and Chavis with him?

Cam makes sense, he is also a Michigan guy. But Chavis is a SEC guy....any chance he goes too? Assuming Miles leaves, the next head coach may want one of his guys as DC. Just something to consider going forward as the rumor mill begins to swirl.

That would mean Michigan would be taking on a lot of salary

There's no way Chavis gets the defensive talent he has in the Big 10.

Depends on who the HC is and if he is offensive or defensive minded. I'll say this, any coach who comes here and gets to interview the incumbents with the pedigree of Chavis or Cam would be smiling ear to ear.

Cam definitely goes with him.

Chavis has been in the SEC forever, no way he is leaving for snow country.

Chip Kelly would make him leave once he got the job.

Certainly makes sense...BUT, if Cam ever wanted to get a plum HC gig at a power program, it sure makes sense for him to express interest in staying and replacing Les.

One has to think Les would suggest/promote him for the gig, if Cam is interested.

I'm just talking about new total staff salary vs. former total staff salary.

Raises for all three would mean a very highly paid staff.

no one on the current staff would be here if Les left. Unless one of them was offered the hc gig.

I don't know about this. I think there would be a concerted push to keep especially Chavis and Wilson.

doesn't need it because the offensive talent isnt as great in B10 as it is in SEC

A coach is going to want his own staff.

So what if the new coach doesnt want them and wants to bring their own people in? You want a coach that is going to be told who to keep? He wont last long.

ALso Miles is what is keeping these coaches from getting other gigs, yes he is loyal to a fault but he pushed to give both those guys raises when they could have left for other programs. Wilson and Chavis regard Les very highly.
