Manny Diaz is a great coach, but his time at Texas says he struggles dealing with the big time. He can coach up the three stars for sure though.

He was their DC a few years ago before he left for Texas. He did a great job the first go around.

Diaz did a tremendous job at MSU, and he turned Tech's defense around in an impressive and quick fashion. The aberration in his resume was at Texas, which was a train wreck of a program. My guess is the hire would be a home run.

I know people around here raise tell when his name was mentioned for our job, but he would be a solid hire heading back to MSU for a second go round. The good thing for state is, he will be a lot less likely to jump at the first big offer if he does succeed after striking out big time at Texas.
