The Bears led 24-21 with four seconds left on the clock when Darrell Bush was stripped on the goal line at the UNLV one yard line while trying to push his way to the endzone. But just when victory seemed assured, Rebel defensive back Thomas picked up the ball and returned it 99 yards for the touchdown as time expired.

What?

He won't be calling offensive plays at LSU. Not that he could do much worse.

I'll say this, he didn't coach at the places that he's been at because he doesn't know his X's and O's. I'm assured of that. Plus he's a great recruiter, reportedly.

But my God. Between this blunder and the WVU catastrophe, I don't get a warm, fuzzy feeling.

You're not supposed to get a warm and fuzzy feeling about this hire. I don't think anyone who follows as closely as we do should.

But if it's true that O has been hired, I think it will take the sting out of this and infuse some long needed energy into the team and fan base.

Agreed.

Tomorrow is the day if we find out O is on staff or not. Got to have the staff in place for recruiting purposes.

I had a hard time believing Miles could have Chavis walk out like he did, then turn around and reward his boy with a promotion.

With some money saved from the Steele hiring, I think Miles could afford his buyout, if he chooses not to leave. If he remains, it would have to be awkward at the very least.

And it's entirely possible he is content and would be an asset to the staff in any position. He would be well paid for sure. Lol

No, he obviously wasn't. But his stops as Dline/DC in New York, Minnesota, Chicago, and Houston were ALL success stories. His defense in Philly was really good while he was the head coach.

I'm hoping that Steele does great things while at LSU, but his track record at most of his other stops say otherwise.

I'm either anxious or nervous to see what Steele can do with the talent that he's going to be privy to.
