I told y'all... but you didn't believe me

Ok, so admittedly still not an insider 
but I did tell you guys from Day 1 that aside from all the other nonsense and misinformation that was being thrown about Steele was one of Les' top choices.
I posted this before and I'll do so again now, but there was a major dogfight for Steele's services several years ago and Saban got him. According to some former LSU players under Saban who are now in the coaching business Saban has a lot of trust and faith in Steele. A LOT. When he wants to bounce defensive ideas off someone he goes to Steele, not Smart. Saban has been quietly pimping Smart as a HC so he could promote Steele to DC.
I wasn't joking earlier when I posted that everyone would be scratching their heads if we hired Smart and Saban promoted Steele to DC. Les just gut punched Saban.
I'm not excited about the hire, but there is more to this than meets the eye. Les searched for the right hire and after interviewing a lot of people he went back to his gut instinct and hired Steele.
Go fill the defense with 4 and 5 star recruits and we're going to be fine.
Now go and find a quarterback

If you're not an insider, then how do you know all of that? I'm not necessarily doubting you, but I need reassurance in my fragile emotional state.

Yeah that doesn't make sense. Not going to say Steele would or wouldn't be the DC had we snagged smart because who knows BUT saban could have had Steele as DC and he didn't.

So did Steele get hypnotized or something? Just trying to understand why he would suddenly become so desirable after continued failures in his career. That's not how things ordinarily transpire.
