As a bama fan if Saban told us tomorrow he was heading to the pro's, I would not be upset, he did to our program what we all thought it could be with right coach and staff around him. I would thank him and wish him luck, if we beat the Domers what more does he have to prove. He wins two more titles he is up there with bryant and to be honest if he wins four bcs titles I think he has already passed bryant. JMO

What if he went to Cleveland, didn't do so well, decide he really does prefer college, then settle in at auburn for his last years coaching and wins 3 national championships there?

We'd assassinate him after one. Duh.

Will Muschamp - coached with Saban at LSU and Miami
You might want to remove Will from this list. He and Nick don't really like each other too much any more.

Thought there was no chance of it, but his wife said it was no longer fun at UA... Say it on ESPN... Anyone else have the transcript of what she said.

Great recruiter
Mediocre to above average coach

Did you intentionally decide to leave out the part where she said they love Tuscaloosa and want to retire at Alabama, or did you miss that all-together?

my point is that numerous coaches have coached with Saban at more than one stop.
do you have any proof that Muschamp doesn't like Saban?

The staff party did happen & was reported on by the Fins' beat writer & one tv station in the area. Not sure what that list of coaches means, but look up how long each stayed with him. Williams & Thompson were basically reclamation projects & neither stayed with him long as well. And, certainly, coaches want to have him on their resume, as no one criticizes him as a bad coach. But the comment bout how "not every coach has what it takes to work as hard..." has little to do with the main issue: he's a prick to work for & his staff members come to detest working for him.

the guy is demanding, but to say that all coaches who have worked for him in the past hated it is simply false. I know a coach from his LSU staff that absolutely loved working for Saban, and if the right opportunity arose I have zero doubt he would rejoin Saban's staff.

False

There was an article a while ago that said Booms parents were mad at Saban. It was refuted, and Nick and Boom are fine. Boom is probably Saban's closest friend of the SEC coaches.

oh, really? Bobby Williams has been coaching with Nick Saban at every single stop since Michigan State. And, he is still on Nick Saban's staff.

The majority are rewarded for working with Saban by getting promotions else where.

So is Lance Thompson

If he will ever leave, before he retires it would be now. We will see.

Lance Thompson never Coached at Michigan State and left Gumpaloosa to coach at UT for a yr or two.

So, by my count, that makes 3 times that Lance Thompson joined a Saban coached team: LSU, Bama, Bama. Yeah, he must really hate working for Saban.

Bobby Wiliams, Sal Sunseri, and Lance Thompson are the coaches I can immediately think of that have had multiple stops with Nick Saban.
