I don't see how the assistants are a big sticking point

Chavis just got hired and didn't bring anybody with him. Muschamp was the only hire at Auburn. And it looks like Durkin won't bring anybody from Florida, as the current DC at Michigan is staying around to coach DL and Harbaguh is filling the rest of the staff with some Niners guys and others.
So that's arguably the 3 biggest DC hires this year all on their own. Yet we can't get anybody b/c they can't bring "their own guys"? I'm not buying it

Muschamp brought in Travaris Robinson?
Durkin coached with Harbaugh previously so im sure the staff brought in is familiar with wach other.

example: what if the best candidate for DC runs a 4-2-5, like TCU. he's gonna need to know that his staff can coach it, can do things the way they need to be done. his career is at stake.
all the coaches you just named still had a say in who their assistants would be. they dont have to literally carry the same guy from job to job, it just has to be a coach they know and like and have confidence in.
because aleva is a fricking moron, we dont have a situation like that. we cant simply go get the best DC, we need a guy who can fit in with the staff our dumbass AD already hired.
