Question for all my ULL friends and I do have some friends over in Lafayette and I certainly dont want to stir you all up. However, someone on here had mentioned Hudspeth as a replacement for Franklin at Vandy if Franklin left. Certainly , am aware of the connection of Hudspeth with MSU but what do ya'll think, would he even be considered at Vandy and do you guys thinke he would leave. Just asking?

Thanks TigerRant, just wanted to see if others were thinking of this and I too believe he might be on Vandy's radar.

Franklin would leave them in good shape so I wouldn't be surprised if he took it. I don't think they're offering it to him though.

Thanks for the input HendersonHands. As I mentioned, someone last week had posted that Hudspeth might be on Vandy's radar and I was unsure whether he would be interested or not. You just never know in today's world of coaches.

Vandy mojo would be to hire the ball state coach. Or maybe they could offer the recently fired titans coach.

Would Vandy take a flyer on Petrino?

I can't imagine Vandy hiring Petrino. He got Arkansas to hire his mistress. I don't think he'll ever end up back at a top-tier school, much less an academically rigorous place like Vanderbilt.

Not a chance. They won't hire Hudspeth either.

Vandy's losing a lot of players this year. I don't think Franklin is leaving them in awful shape but they were slated to take a step backwards next season whether Franklin was there or not. It's not going to be an easy situation for whoever they hire but it won't be the worst situation either.

Even if they weren't losing as many as they are just losing Jordan Matthews is huge. Matthews might as well be JFF in terms of a single player carrying the entire team on his back. He's that important and the reason Vandy has been able to do what they have.

A good situation relative to what Vandy has always been is what I meant.

Hopefully CJF stays. I mean I really hope he does. Obviously. That being said, if he bolts they should look at Mack Brown. He is from Cookeville, I think he began college at Vandy, his brother Watson is a Vandy legend and (failed) ex-head coach. He can come back and redeem the family name. Plus, he has very little to do with his time now.

Mack Brown would be an interesting hire for Vandy. He's a good coach and good human being by most accounts. I don't know about the whole brother having coached there thing - some families that wouldn't work without causing serious tension while others it wouldn't be an issue.

Mack had it made at Texas and recruiting wasn't an issue. He'd have to log a lot of miles to recruit well for Vandy and after being at Texas for 15 years. If he's interested, I think he'd be a great hire on the the x's and o's front. The big question would be whether or not he'd be up for the recruiting challenge.

Regardless of who y'all end up with what are Vandy fan's expectations going to be after having two back to back historically good seasons? Do you think there will be a 'Paterno faction' that undermines any new guy just because he's not like CJF? Do you think the fan base will understand that next year will likely be a step back but it won't be because whoever is hired messed it up? How do you see that playing out?

Don't think they will offer him the job but if they do, I think he'd accept and I'd tip my hat to him and wish him good luck
