Fangio will lead Fox's defense in Chicago, with Ed Donatell expected to join him as their defensive backs coach.

In the last 20 years, this guy has been a defensive coordinator for 5 NFL teams and one college team, and was also an assistant head coach.

The NFL really needs to expand their candidate pool.

He's also been extremely successful as a defensive coordinator soooo he belongs in that pool

During Fangio's last four years as defensive coordinator of the 49ers, the club ranked in the top 10 in points and yards. In Fangio's first three seasons in San Francisco (2011-13), the 49ers were the only team in the NFL to finish in the top five in points allowed (16.1 points per game), run defense (89.1-yard average), rushing average (3.7), first downs allowed (835), opponent quarterback rating (76), yards allowed (306.5 yards per game), plays for gains of 20-plus yards (147), takeaways (93) and third-down defense (34.1 percent conversion rate).

Phenomenal hire by the Bears.

Between Fox and Fangio, the Bears have been offseason champs thus far.

Was really impressed with Fox`s presser. Exactly the kind of no-nonsense coach the club has been missing. Theres some young talent on D, and some who should be pushed out (like mcclellen).

Will be interesting to see how some of the high maintence guys on the offensive side mesh with the change though. Trest was a giant vagina.

If the Bears figure out the QB situation or Cutler is contained by Fox, they could have a very solid team.

Good staff they put together and the weapons on offense are awesome. They need to draft an entire defense too

To be fair, the Bucs were "offseason champs" last year for a lot of people
