Nice!
I entered my favorite author (Steven Erikson), but I've read most of the authors that popped up

If you want to see something entertaining, try putting in Neil Gaiman.
It lists authors from almost every genre.

That is pretty neat. For Jim Butcher I got the usual suspects like Seanan McGuire (I swear that woman was bitten by a radioactive Mercedes Lackey and acquired the superhuman ability to publish a book a month) and Charlaine Harris. I was a bit surprised that Tanya Huff was the closest author in the map but after thinking about they do tend to write along the same lines.
Charlaine Harris' tree has a ton of urban fantasy writers and some romance writers but doesn't connect her with as many mystery writers as I would have expected. Then again she writes in three or four genres so half the writers out there would land close to her on something.
Thanks for the link

Okay, so I put in F. Scott Fitzgerald(whom I love) and the closest one to his name that came up was Ayn Rand(whom I hate)
Otherwise, top notch.

Amusing to look at I suppose, but highly inaccurate. I put in George R R Martin and the closest were Raymond Feist, Terry Brooks, Robin Hobb, and Tad Williams. You can click on one author and have an author right next to them, click on the other name and they'll be far apart.

Agreed. I was also surprised to see Ben Aaronovitch (Rivers of London series) so far. I would have thought he would have been right there beside Kevin Hearn.
Also, it's interesting to note that "God" is just up and to the left when you put in R. A. Salvatore. I've always enjoyed Salvatore's writings but I think that's a bit much.
