I'm kind of at a loss as to why it is called the Great Northern Conspiracy. I mean is it really a huge conspiracy that the northerners, who would rather a Stark (a family known to be fair and noble) be ruling them than a Bolton (a family whose banner is of a flayed man for good reason), would be plotting to put a Stark back in power?

Its a conspiracy because as of right now, they are all, or at least the large players, pledging loyalty to the Boltons and the Crown.

Gotcha. I was thinking it was being called a conspiracy because people thought it was a crackpot theory.
But I think ole Manderly is about to ruin things for the conspirators by letting the cat out of the bag. The fat guy just can't help himself from taunting the Freys.

The Boltons, or at least Roose, already know he's going to betray him. The thing is, Manderly already has men surrounding him that would put up too much of a fight to risk the few men Roose has. Roose is basically now secretly trying to find out when and how Manderly is going to make his move and stop it before.
Roose knows he's stuck between winter on one side, Stannis on the other, and Manderly(with other northern men) throughout his ranks. He's screwed and he knows it. He's desperate and that is what makes him still very dangerous.

Are we even sure Manderly is still alive? He got his throat cut at Winterfell, which could have been a clever (though costly) way of making the outbreak of the fight look like a feud between he and the Freys.
There is no way the Boltons came out ahead in that fight, with Stannis breathing down their necks.

I'm pretty sure that Manderly's men stepped in before Hosteen could finish him off. I believe Manderly got patched up and survived, right? Or am I misremembering how that went down?

Yeah he is still alive, for now. His fatass saved him because he had enough chins to lose a few to the sword.
How long he will last with that wound though remains to be seen. Although, if the GNC is accurate at that part, he was basically ready and willing to take the death blow and he was just trying to enjoy his short time alive pissing off the Freys to no end.

For sure Winterfell, they just pasts Moat Cailin after LF/Sansa were talking.
Then Brianne/Pod go around it cause Brianne knows where they are going. They were restoring WF too, and if you remember, MC was all jacked up when Theon went there to meet the Ironborn.
The North remembers though, so it's swelling to Bolton/Frey beat down. I just wonder who is gonna die worse out of the 2.

They were at Moat Cailin when Sansa and LF got out of the carriage and talked about Sansa figuring out what LF was up to. But they were just passing through on their way to Winterfell. That is why Brienne told Pod they had to go around Cailin because they had to follow Sansa on to Winterfell. The Boltons are currently ruling the North from Winterfell, so that is where LF and Sansa ended up. That is why the old lady told her "The north remembers". I doubt some old lady in Moat Cailin would've uttered those words.

Maybe because Moat Cailin is in the North

I guess I should've expounded on that last sentence. I meant that I doubt that there would even be an old lady at Moat Cailin to utter those words. I don't think it was even permanently manned until Rob marched south. Then the ironborn took it, and when the Boltons took it from the ironborn, Ramsey had everyone flayed. So unless some old lady traveled to Moat Cailin with the Boltons there wasn't any old ladies there. And I doubt if a lady had actually traveled with the Boltons there, she would've made that comment to Sansa.

Plus I'm pretty sure I remember that room that Sansa was in with the window to outside from one of the first episode. It may have even been her and/or Arya's old room.
