Pasted from the other thread
I unfortunately had that spoiled for me.
I was pretty confident Joffrey would die at his wedding as well after Robb was killed. It would have been poetic justice and Melisandre's sorcery was real. Was definitely thinking Sansa was going to do it though, or someone on her behalf, so I was right in a way.
But I predicted almost right on the money how Tywin would die. I saw it coming that Tysha was exactly who she said she was, Tyrion would find out, and then kill his father as retribution for it.

I'm on Book Four now. I predicted the wedding about 200 pages before it happened, so my reaction to that was just "get on with it".

But the King's Landing stuff... all a big curveball.

I struggled through Feast my first time through but I'm on my first reread now (I've read the other ones 3 times and Dance twice, I've been putting off Feast for that precise reason) and I'm loving it. Feast is going to get a lot more love once the series is complete I think.
Without a doubt. AFFC is a book that you need rereads on to really enjoy. It just can't measure up to ASOS, and that's not even going into missing several of the best characters.
But once you reread you can appreciate the little things like the Dornish history and backstory.
I was annoyed AFFC the first time I read it, even though I wasn't expecting a ton after all the issues with it. But much of that came from waiting 5 years for it to come out, same with ADWD pretty much. The lack of plot movement in 10 years pissed me off with both.

For sure. I HATED the dorne and iron islands POVs the first time through. With the exception of Victarion's chapter in the Shield Islands of course but this time through they have become my favorites along with Cersei (her chapters were amazing the first time through though). The Damphair is especially entertaining.
Brienne is still a chore to get through. I just don't give a frick about that ugly bitch
Btw I've always wondered wtf does your screen name mean?

Me too. It is just the kind of thing GRRM would do. Set everything up to be her younger brother, and then have it be someone else's younger brother. Nice.
Exactly. I think it'd be pretty cool

Its definitely an interesting theory that I hadn't thought of or seen before and I could definitely see it happen.
And on one hand I would like it to come about that way because I want the Hound to continue to wreck shite but on the other hand, the dominant hand, I don't want it to happen. Jaime needs to kill that count.

I'm in the same boat. I'd be happy with either way

What if Sandor won sentencing Cersei to death so she somehow fled and got away and Jaime hunted her down and delivered the King's Justice.....
Now THAT I could get behind

The au is just for Auburn. yushu is just hiragana japanese for excellent or excellence. Just an easy moniker I used early on in the interwebs I know will always be available on any message board I go to.
I'd agree about Brienne, she was cool in other peoples chapters, but reading from her point of view is bad. I'm still not a huge fan of the Iron Islands viewpoints in AFFC, outside of Theon's sister. But Vic is awesome reading in ADWD. He and Cersei always make for fun reads just because they are so crazy arse and trainwrecks waiting to happen.

I think the king's moot is one of the best chapters in the series personally

I got to thinking about Septa Lemore. I have always had the opinion that she was Ashara Dayne, due in large to the fact that she is Ashara Dayne. The only reason I don't like this theory is because she is with Aegon who I firmly believe to be a Blackfyre. I'm not sure why, but I don't see why her allegiance would lie there. I guess she could have been drawn to Connigton being that he was also running away from Westeros, but I just can't get my head around that part. On a side note... I'm going to drive myself insane with speculation before this next book comes out.

Speaking of her, where is she now? Is she still with Connington and "Aegon"? Seems weird to have a hot septa hanging out with a sellsword company across the narrow sea.

I'm thinking so. Last we heard of her was when they were in Volantis. No reason to think they left her there.

That it does. But having the protection of the future king does carry some weight. I am guessing we get her true identity when Arianne meets up with her. Or at least another clue.

Same here. Made me start to really like the Ironborn

I was ehinking the same thing about her, but what if Aegon is not a Blackftre, but a Targaryen from Aerion Targaryen. Aerion was sent to Lys after the Trial of Seven. On his wiki page, it says he served with the Second Sons and my have fathered some children when he was over there.

That's a good point that I have not seen mentioned. Aerion's line has all but been forgotten. I would think GRRM would make Aegon slightly insane if he were the descendant of Aerion, but you never can tell with him. If Aegon is the great grandson of Aerion, or something like that, then I could see them calling him Rhaegar's son in order to give him a better claim than Dany. Good catch.

Yeah, that scene and the battle where Vic winds up getting his injury are both pretty awesome in AFFC.
I think maybe one of the reasons I don't like the Ironborn all that much is from reading Joe Abercrombie around the same time as AFFC came out, as he does barbarian characters like that far better and much more interesting. They just ring hollow compared to the other kingdoms and characters in ASOIAF for the most part.

I think Septa Lemore was being held back with Aegon when Connington took the Griffin's Roost so she's around.
On another note, some interesting Cersei-Jamie parallels to think about:
-Both have lost their "golden crown" of hair at some recent point
-Both have lost or are losing their greatest weapon: Jamie's sword hand & Cersei's beauty
-Both are about to be involved in some form of revenge with the undead. Jamie & Uncat at Riverrun and Daven Lannister's wedding, and Cersei & Robert Strong at the trial.

It's an interesting read to see how alike they are. It's an unbelievable read to see how Jamie's set of events have made so much more deeper and complex then his idiot whore of a sister.

I have no idea why, but Victarion is one of my favorites. I look forward to all his chapters and seriously hope he isn't falling into another of Euron's traps with the Dragon Horn. I realize Euron probably has set the trap, but I hope Maqorro keeps him from getting caught.
