I'm sure he'll live to see the end of "The Winds of Winter", but can't say the same for Spring. Plus I'm concerned about the show ruining it for us.
Same here. I think that TWoW will be out before Season 6 debuts but no way in hell that ADoS is out before Season 7 or 8 or whenever they delve into ADoS material. Judging from the trailer and on-set photos, they're going to delve a lot into ADWD for Theon, Dany, Bran and some of AFFC this season (Brienne and Pod pictures on set). I think they'll definitely have AFFC and ADWD material fully covered by the end of Season 5. And then have Seasons 6-8 be TWoW and ADoS, about 1.5 seasons/15 episodes for each book. I think the absolute maximum amount of season would be 9, but I think David and Dan will wrap it up in 8 seasons.

I never lived in Miller when I was at LSU.

Well with a lot of details missing from the show that we take as important, I believe that in one of the upcoming seasons they'll have to fill in some of that information. If not the Hodors will sit around asking, wut?

Really hope they start mentioning Rhaegar and Lyanna more, and the Knight of the Laughing Tree.

No kidding, otherwise the Hodors are gonna flip out if R+L=J

Do the Hodors even remember Rhaegar and Lyanna? . They've barely been mentioned since S1 aside from Dany asking Jorah things and Jorah saying Rhaegar fought nobly, fought valiantly, and Rhaegar died and Barristan from S3.
Seriously...when I started reading AGoT as a Hodor, I had completely forgotten who the Mountain was until the Tourney of the Hand scene in the books. Goes to show you how bad the show has done with the Mountain and showing how despicable he is.

I think they may know that King Robert was in love with
Ned's sister, since that was mentioned several times during the first season. Wouldn't shock me if they've forgotten it. Wish we could do a poll with them, but they'd bitch and moan that we spoiled who Lyanna is.

They do not.
I've asked my Hodor friends several times if they remember who Ned's siblings were. Half can't even name Benjen who was actually in the show. Viserys is always the first answer to the question "who is Dany's oldest brother".
Also when I ask who they think Jon Snow's mom is and they couldn't care less. I explained the R+L=J theory to one buddy that wanted to know who I thought Jon's mom was but his eyes glazed over after he realized there wasn't more incest.
I'm not allowed to watch or talk about the show with my Hodor friends anymore though because if we're drinking I let spoilers slip. A lot.
I feel really bad for one Hodor firend because I spoiled both Ned and Joffrey's death for him.

i definitely want to test their knowledge. Maybe we could get someone who is reading the books to ask them.

What I thought. My guess is this season they'll get into more of Dany asking about Rhaegar to Barristan, seeing as they are the only ones who could bring it up naturally in conversation.

They would definitely bitch about Lyanna and us 'spoiling' that she even existed and was bethrothed to Robert. Oh and they'd probably get mad if you mention Rhaegar, "Dany had another brother?"

All that has been mentioned of Rhaegar was by Robert, Dany, Jorah, and Barristan.
Lyanna, well, not a chance they remember her

I don't think Lyanna's been mentioned much outside of the Pilot episode. Not sure what David and Dan's endgame with that is because I 100% think she's Jon's mother.

Cersei mentioned her once, though not by name.

There are two scenes where Cersei mentions her: once to Robert when they basically laugh about how much they both despise one another (great scene BTW) and when she tells Ned what happened on the night of her wedding.

It is probably a good rule of thumb for all readers to just lurk the series threads. Possibly just post emoticons. Bannings will come fast.
