Reek, reek it rhymes with leek

But honestly, Jamie Lannister is gonna find redemption. He is the best person out of the lannisters. Cersei is probably off fricking Lancel, or Osmund Kettleblack, or even Moonboy

If I had a dollar every time Jaime thinks about that line in AFFC, I'd be a millionaire.

Oooohhhhh, and guess what! Remember that part about the bleeding star?

"...The giant was dangling a bloody corpse by one leg...swinging it like a Morningstar...
He swung the dead knight against the grey stone of the tower, again and again and again, until the man's head was red and pulpy as a summer melon. The knight's cloak flapped in the cold air. Of white wool it had been, bordered in cloth of silver and patterned with blue stars"

Same scene we have salt, smoke and a bleeding star.

Welcome to the crackpot thread. But yeah, that's one of the main things promoting Jon as AA, along with him popping up in Mel's visions when she is searching for AA.

Yeah, you definitely get to know each of the POV characters better and what drives their thoughts. Jaime's thoughts are so fricking hilarious, especially when he's making fun of Brienne and teasing the shite out of her. In additio, I felt that with the Jon Ygritte story this past season, you could tell Jon was conflicted, but in the books, you can reaaaaally see how torn up he is about it. He truly loved her but at the same time he knew he was a black brother at heart. I really can't wait to see next season when Stannis gives Jon his proposition about legitimizing him as the Lord of Winterfell...lovelovelove it. Kind of made me emotional reading it, because Jon was truly conflicted about that as well, and how he thought about what it would be like to have a son or daughter of his own to hold and then *bam*, he's the Lord Commander.

Now that I think more about it/digest it, I think GRRM knew that Jon wouldn't leave the Night's Watch easily, and that his 'death' would be the perfect way to get him to leave The Wall.

Some douchebag just spoiled that the Red Viper is not going to be around long in the other thread on the front page. I RA'd, and I never do that.

Yes that one's pretty obvious.

SAGAL: Isn't it true that there's a character in your latest book that's there because you lost a bet about a football game?

MARTIN: Yes, in a way, yes, it is. That's true.
(LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: Well what happened?

MARTIN: Well there's this guy named Patrick St. Denis, who runs a fantasy website called Pat's Fantasy Hotlist. And Pat is a big Dallas Cowboys fan. So we would have a standing bet for a number of years about whether the Dallas Cowboys or the New York Giants would do better. And I won the bet the first two years. But finally, in the third year the Cowboys finished ahead of the Giants. And what I had to do if he won the bet was to kill him horribly within the books. So I invented a character called Ser Patrek of King's Mountain and described his heraldry as looking somewhat like the heraldry of the Dallas Cowboys with the silver star on a white field. And then I had him ripped apart by a giant.

Which makes the whole thing even more genius. Either Martin managed to tie a bet with his friend into Jon's death and AA, or he's just trolling the hell out of us readers. Either way it's pretty amusing.

Yeah, it is. Plus I never knew how much of a football fan he was until recently. He records all the NFL games and watches them throughout the week. I think he watches college football as well.

Anyone see this yet? I think the sortings are spot-on for most of the characters.

I'd actually certainly put Theon in Slytherin. Aside from maybe Littlefinger and Joffrey, he seems to be the best example of what a Slytherin is.

If I were to take a stab:

Gryffindor: Jaime Lannister, Arya Stark, Jon Snow, Mance Rayder, Barristan Selmy, Robert Baratheon, Lyanna Stark, Brandon Stark, Victarion Greyjoy, Jon Connington, Aegon Targaryen, Howland Reed, Meera Reed, Rickon Stark, Arthur Dayne, Khal Drogo.

Hufflepuff: Ned Stark, Robb Stark, Sansa Stark, Catelyn Stark, The Hound, Hodor, Brienne of Tarth, Podrick Payne, Davos Seaworth, Jorah Mormont, Wyman Manderly, Aemon Greyjoy, Asha Greyjoy, Hotpie, Gendry, Stannis Baratheon, Mace Tyrell, Quentyn Martell, Kevan Lannister.

Ravenclaw: Tyrion Lannister, Varys, Illyrio, Bran Stark, Basically all Maesters, Doran Martell, Samwell Tarly, Jojen Reed, Melisandre, Jon Arryn, Arianne Martell, Lothar Frey, Missandre, Daario, Rhaegar Targaryen.

Slytherin: Cersei Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Littlefinger, Walder Frey, Theon Greyjoy, Euron Greyjoy, Roose Bolton, Ramsay Bolton, Joffrey Baratheon, Oberyn Martell, Pycelle, The Mountain, Olenna Redwyne, Margeary Tyrell, Aerys Targaryen, Danaerys Targaryen, Viserys Targaryen, Lysa Arryn.

Yeah, definitely. And Littlefinger should've been on the list as Slytherin for sure.

I completely agree with Davos, Ned, and Brienne as Hufflepuff.

Not sure if I'd put Arya as Gryffindor. But I wouldn't classify her as Slytherin either.

Tyrion, Sam, and Bran are definitely Ravenclaw.

Jon is a good pick for Gryffindor.

She'd have to be in one of those 2 houses.

He and Jaime I think best exemplify the traits of being a Gryffindor.

Anybody have thoughts on Margaery and the moon tea? I find it hard to believe that she was really getting it from Pycelle. Did he just say he was giving it to her to please Cersei?

Did y'all see the one where they compared every MLB team to their corresponding character in GOT. I posted it after season 1 was complete, I'll try and find it if anyone wants to see it.

That's what I'm thinking. I think he was afraid she'd give him to Qyburn if he refused to say it.
