There is no way in Hell 2Phat finishes the book and gets it published by 2014.
The agony of ADWD wait is not forgotten, nor forgiven...years upon YEARS of scouring the net for any scrap of rumor/ update...constant promises of 'absolute' release dates...over and over...no show to whet the whistle...the torture of hearing of his exploits in Europe and never-ending engagements...he went like a whole year and actually UNWROTE 20 pages...
His promises are words on the wind, nothing more.

He has HBO & David & Dan breathing down his neck now. Otherwise they have no problem surpassing his "source material" and too bad if Fat Man gets pissed when they surpass him. He is his own enemy when it comes to writing these books

His tone did sound a little more confident than in the past so i am cautiously optimistic that this is the case. These books do have to be a bitch to write.
He says he doesn't work from the typical outline but there's still a chance he's got large pieces of the ending already written. He'll still have to make it all fit together though.

So I re-watched the finale for the 3rd time a few days ago...Who is the Ironborn guy with the scar on Asha's ship? The camera panned on him as if he was of some importance.

Given the "going to rescue Theon" plot they introduced for Asha at the end of last season I doubt this. They haven't announced casting of them either eh? Wouldn't be surprised if the Kingsmoot doesn't show until the following season.

Just by the chapters he's been comfortable in releasing to the public, he has more then half the damn thing written.
I think he'll have it earlier then we think because of the show putting the pressure on. He has a hell of a lot more fans to appease then he did when he released ADwD.

I think the RV will make it to Episode 8. He'll be billed as a main character and not a guest star. He'll be heavily prominent in the King's Landing storylines, and I don't think anyone will expect one of the big characters to be taken down so quickly.

I haven't thought about it like that, but you could be right.
But because of the name Greyjoy they could just roll in Victorian and others because we know who the family is.
It could happen like that though for sure

No way Jon's storyline could possibly move that fast in 10 episodes. Not to mention they would have zip for him to do in the following season if they did that.
