Amazing we killed them off because they were considered a nuisance.

At one point there were over 32 million on the Great Plains.

Great book. Rinella has a hell of a sack to make that solo hunt for one.

Yes excellent read. I remember a section that shook my 4th grade self. I remember thinking back then that the native Americans used every part of the buffalo. Rinella clarifies; yes they used every part of the animal, but not every part of every animal. If they killed 30 buffalo on a jump, they didn’t have the use for 120 hoofs…

Enjoyed the detail he took in breaking down the animal after shooting it.’

I recently read Scavenger's Guide to Haute Cuisine. It's really entertaining and easy to read. Got a few sensible chuckles out of it.

He had a feller on his podcast explaining this as well. Apparently it's a controversial issue for tribespeople because they like everybody to believe they never wasted anything that was killed.

Natives really benefit from the myth of the "Noble Savage" -- they should build a monument to Bill Cody instead of Crazy Horse. I'm cool with it, but I know it's mostly fiction. The stone age tribesmen in North America were little different from the stone age tribespeople of any other area in the world.
