Vince Young Loses His Awards & Trophies In Storage Unit Auction
Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports
Former NFL QB Vince Young just lost most of his prized football possessions in a storage unit auction. Young apparently didn't pay the fees for his storage space in Houston, Texas and the owner is selling his stuff...
quote:

We're told items in the storage unit included Young's Maxwell Award, his MVP trophy from the 2006 Rose Bowl and a whole bunch of other one-of-a-kind items.

We're told the ball from his first-ever NFL touchdown pass was also in there ... and even helmets he used throughout his career -- including the '06 Rose Bowl game -- were in there.

According to the lucky unit winner ... she only paid a few thousand dollars for the semi-blind auction back in November -- and was pretty surprised at the haul that she got for the cash.

Currently, she's only listed Young's Maxwell Award, his Rose Bowl MVP trophy and his Manning Award for sale ... with the asking price of $50,000 for each on eBay.

People that buy & sell trophies/awards they didn't earn are pathetic. She should give them back to Young. I can overlook selling the other stuff, though.

Just think. If Young cared about them he could have scraped up a few bucks to pay his bill or never put them in some rinky dink storage facility to start with. Bidding on a storage container is like bidding on anything else. The whole point is to try to get items with high resale value. She did. Good score for her.

If Young really cared about the trophies, he wouldn't have stuck them away in some dank storage unit.

He obviously didn’t give a crap about the stuff in there as he lost it over a few hundred dollars. If he is upset about it, it’s symptomatic of his coddled lifestyle of not understanding the consequences of his actions or this case inaction. Either way sad.

She will quickly find out that she will be lucky to get her money back from the auction. No one wants to pay big money for sports memorabilia of a player that never lived up to their potential. That stuff will probably end up making an appearance on “Pawn Stars.”

Nah. While he is stupid, there are a lot of people with that Texas money that are dying to get something like that.

His NFL memorabilia may not be worth a lot, but there's enough UT fans with big money to blow that'll pay a high price for his Rose Bowl MVP trophy and game worn helmet from the Rose Bowl. She'll easily make a hefty profit on that storage unit if she only paid a couple grand for it.

I used to do sports memorabilia auctions... I promise you someone will buy every bit of that stuff. Someone like my old boss will buy that (not for what she is asking for now), get it signed and authenticated, then sell it for boo-coo dollars. And some Tsiper will buy that shite up because they can't help themselves.

Further confirmation that Vince Young is a dumbass.

Some Texas grad will buy the stuff and either donate it back to Vince or the university.

I would feel like a piece of shite for profiting off of this, regardless of it is Young’s fault

That stuff is not worth a $1 more than someone is willing to pay for it... Sentimental value will drive every dollar that some poor T-siper puts into this crappola.

Oh, stfu about profiting off of this. He can't pay $100 a month to cover the storage unit rent?

Come on man he has to have a family member that would love to have all Young’s sports memorabilia in their home. Just for the monetary gain alone. This is a dumb move Vince. No way he should lose that merchandise. Some uncle aunt or sibling could house that stuff.
