He's not telling them to hit him in the head. He's just trying to protect his ACL, MCL, and knees. I think it's very smart of him.

The NFL doesnt like the high hits because of the CTE liability and they are terrified of the publicity of the extremely possible but highly unlikely chance of someone dying on national television during a football game. The players would rather a high hit vs a low one because the extremely possible and incredibly common occurrence of a leg or hip injury. A concussion will put you out for a play or two. A lower body injury will put out a season or two. The difference for the player is big $$$ and they might need that money for a home nurse to change their shitbag and feed them from the brain injuries they suffer from the high hits. Lifes a series of tradeoffs.
