According to Corporal Jake Smith, the Gwinnett County police public information officer, Jennings was stopped just before noon Wednesday while traveling north on Interstate 85. Jennings, driving his 2015 Mercedes S63 AMG, was observed by the arresting officer as traveling 99 mph in a 65 mph zone.

According to Smith, upon approaching Jennings, “the officer noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverages and began a DUI investigation. Ultimately, Jennings was charged with speeding, DUI, and reckless driving. He was taken into custody and transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center without incident.”
Jennings started in 16 games this season and recorded 50 tackles with seven pass breakups and one forced fumble.

He signed a four-year, $22.4 million extension last January.
