Baylor head coach Art Briles announced in a statement on Friday that he intends to remain with the Baylor program.

Briles statement per ESPN...
quote:

"I have no desire to pursue other coaching positions," Briles said in the news release. "As I've said many times, I am both humbled and honored to be the head coach at Baylor University and believe we have something special going here.

"I look forward to leading the Bears onto the field next fall at McLane Stadium and defending our Big 12 championship that our players and coaches worked so hard to win this season."

Briles names has been tossed around as a potential Texas canidate as well as with the Washington Redskins where he would reunite with QB Robert Griffin III. Briles is 44-32 in six seasons as head coach of Baylor.
