San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick chose to sit during the National Anthem before his preseason debut against the Green Bay Packers on Friday. Why?
quote:

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color,” he said. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

“This is not something that I am going to run by anybody,” he said. “I am not looking for approval. I have to stand up for people that are oppressed. … If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right.”
The 49ers released a statement after Friday’s game supporting Kaepernick’s right to choose whether or not to acknowledge the national anthem.

Unfortunately race will never ever be a non-issue just like gear heads will never be best friends with the pokemon go nerds (most of the time). The silver lining in this is that the races are talking about it to eachother. One on one. It's pretty spectacular really.

As former Military I don't like it, but we live in America. There are pros and cons, such is freedom, free will and choice. Hopefully it costs him in his wallet, but he is entitled to his opinion and not restricted in his actions by the NFL. One thing is for sure, the attention social media is giving him is the stage that he coveted.

His dad is black who walked out on them only to have his WHITE mother take care of him for a while. When she realized she couldn't give him any kind of life she put him up for adoption and he was adopted by a loving WHITE couple who raised him.

In a word, sanctimonious. In another word, prick. Blacks aren't the only people who are getting shot and killed by police. The BLM movement is giving a voice to an ignorant, self-important portion of the Black population that is not seeking a real solution for the problems they are having.

Got too love this county that gets more upset at tge fact that a QB is demostrating a protest about oppresion bit supports a presidential candidate that uses the death of an athlete family member as an opportunity to get votes from the black community. Gotta love it

Even those colorblind kids in the picture above are smart and mature enough to show respect for the anthem. Anyway yes, he does have the freedom to show his arse, but I also have the freedom to point out that he is an a-hole.

Ungrateful A-hole was raised by a white family after his worthless black father had nothing to do with him. He makes a living playing a freaking game, paid lots of money by mostly white people, then his career starts to hit the skids, so he lashes out at the same people who supported him. In essence, he is one dumb f**k that should be banned from the country & sent to live over in some volatile country in the Middle East so that maybe he will (as difficult as that is to believe for him) begin to realize how good he has it and will quit believing the even more dumb, biased media!
