During LSU's underclassmen press conference on Friday, head coach Les Miles was asked about the status of sophomore fullback Melvin Jones.

According to Ross Dellenger with The Advocate, Miles is "uncertain" on Jones' status.

Jones, the backup who had a banner day in the win over Florida this season, did not travel to LSU’s bowl game. Miles said that was because of academics.

Asked whether Jones is returning to the team this spring, Miles said, “I’m not certain.”
Jones was the No. 2 fullback on the 2014 depth chart behind graduating senior Connor Neighbors.

Expect 2015 commit David Ducre, the No. 1 fullback in the country to make an early impact for the Tigers. Ducre is already on campus and was listed as one of four early LSU enrollees this week.

Not facing a fullback may be a good thing for our offense
